If you’re looking forward to Game of Thrones returning next April you might need to take a seat…
While all the fans have been waiting for GoT to return with world being Aril 2019, June at the latest, it seems that it could be a little later…
Visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer has dropped a bombshell… he and his team are working on the show util May 2019, which means that the show could be a late bloomer in 2019.
“In two years we’ll be eligible for the Season 8 work, which we’re just beginning now,” Bauer told The Huffington Post while addressing the show’s Emmy eligibility.
“We’re going to be toiling away on season 8 until May of 2019, so it’s eight or nine months away…But the prequel is starting to shoot in February, at least the pilot. So we’ll still have quite a lot to do on season 8 when they’re beginning.”
So here’s the score… for the 2019 Emmys, only television shows airing before May 31, 2019 can be considered. That means he’s already looking ahead at the 2020 Emmys, which would place the final season on HBO’s schedule after May 2019.
In related news, HBO has released a new trailer for their upcoming shows and there’s footage in here form the new series of Game of Thrones…the new footage begins around 1min 40seconds… but don’t get too excited.
Enjoy…
