Mortal Kombat movie reboot writer teases MK3 characters

December 2nd, 2019 by Geralt of Australia Comments

The Australian film industry has been booming ever since the MCU decided to go and film in the Gold Coast, from there Martin Freeman’s Cargo was filmed in South Australia, and now SA is proud to be home to the new Mortal Kombat movie currently being filmed.

Well, since it’s all being filmed in my home town means I can bring you some news, like Greg Russo (no relation to the Russo brothers) announcing that we’ll be seeing some characters from the Mortal Kombat 3 game.

Writer Greg Russo took to twitter to answer some questions put to him from the fans, one in particular asking if we’ll see any of the characters that were introduced in MK3.

As we can see, the answer was a resounding ‘yes’, although he’s being rather tight-lipped on what characters they’ll be.

For those who’ve played the game you’ll know that there were quite a few characters introduced, although there are some that would be more likely to appear than others such as Jade, Nightwolf, and my personal favorite Noob.

Russo definitely sounds like the man for the job as he’s also currently writing the screenplays for a Space Invaders and a Saints Row movie, maybe he’ll be the new writer for a lot of other video game movies to come.

With the movie set to release March 5th 2021 you can be sure that we’ll be able to see some of the characters soon enough as the movie is just about to hit the filming stage. Until then prepare yourselves for fatality, stay nerdy folks.
