As The League of Gentlemen turns 25, cast hints at a return to Roston Vasey

The League of Gentlemen are coming back! Hopefully.

Hard as it is to believe, the classic dark comedy series first aired on BBC 2 twenty-five years ago, but the good news is that The League Of Gentlemen – The Complete Collection is hitting blu-ray on June 9th and the whole gang have sat down and recorded all-new commentaries for it and now that they’re starting to do a little press, they’ve also revealed that maybe, just maybe, we’ll see Tubbs and Edward and the rest on stage again.

I might still have my Royston Vasey street sign and my shop snowglobe from the 2018 live show on the fireplace but i’d be well up for another night with the League.

Warners bosses confirm more Beetlejuice, Goonies, Gremlins and Matrix movies

When creators/stars Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson sat down to record the new commentaries, it seems the conversation turned to another grand reunion: “always, the subject [of a reunion] comes up. So it’s never far from any of our minds … [though there’s] nothing solid [yet],” Dyson said.

Pemberton, currently promoting the Inside No 9 stage show along with Shearsmith said he’s definitely up for a return to Royston Vasey: “I’d like to do another tour of The League Of Gentlemen.”

“It’s not news to me. No, he says it every day,” Shearsmith added.

However, it seems that Sherlock’s Mark Gatiss is the missing link to the return right now, with Pemberton saying: “Well, listen, you definitely would do it. I would do it. We just need to work on Mark.”

So, while you’re heading over to place your pre-order for the The Complete Collection, just say a prayer that we might yet have another fresh tale to be told in Royston Vasey and just how ghastly sweet that would be.

Twelvty!

Is Matt Reeves’ Batman universe in trouble? All signs point to ‘yes’

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
