It looks like Keanu Reeves is set to jump on board another action franchise, and yes, you know I am all-in for it.

New independent studio The Arena, created by Erik Feig, is focused on action and big franchises, so needless to say, Keanu Reeves is officially involved in their first project, the upcoming adaptation of Oliver Lowe’s (pen name for author Casey Stegman) novel Kill Current: A Jon Hendricks Thriller and is set to play Hendricks as well as produce.

According to Deadline: Kill Current is the first novel in a forthcoming thriller series centering on Jon Hendricks, a burned-out CIA officer who is pulled back in to avenge the protégé he trained and lost. Offering a globe-spanning, edge-of-your-seat action thriller about shifting alliances and the race for the world’s most precious and valuable assets, the first novel from Lowe is slated for publication by Zando in May 2027.

This sounds like it was custom-made for 62-year-old Reeves, who is still an action hero in the John Wick series and is fitter than men half his age.

Wait… John Wick… Jon Hendricks… hmmmmmmmm.

On the movie, Feig said: “Keanu Reeves is a singular talent and synonymous with the kind of intelligent action franchises we are aiming to make.”

“I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to develop the character Jon Hendricks with these wonderful collaborators and that this is the project that launches Two Dragonflies which I share with my partner, Alexandra Grant,” Reeves said.

‘The story is broke,’ Jessica Rothe gives promising Happy Death Day 3 update

The Arena, Zando and Two Dragonflies are partnering on a Keanu-led adaptation of “KILL CURRENT: A Jon Hendricks Thriller”.

Jon Hendricks is a burned-out CIA officer in Oliver Lowe’s latest thriller novel, Kill Current, who is pulled back in to avenge the protégé he trained and lost. Instead of Cold War nostalgia, Kill Current is rooted in the issues shaping today’s headlines: technological and information warfare.
