Jason Reitman attending Hook & Ladder 8 for Ghostbusters Day 2025!

This year’s celebration outside New York City’s iconic Hook & Ladder 8 just got even bigger, with confirmation that the one and only Jason Reitman will appear as a special guest, says Jason over at Ghostbusters News.

Announced through the official Ghostbusters social channels, Reitman will be in attendance for the Saturday, June 7 festivities, helping kick off the celebration at 12:00 PM EST. Additionally, event organizers, the Buffalo Ghostbusters, have confirmed that Reitman will be signing autographs and bringing along additional surprise guests.

Reitman joins an already stacked lineup, including Hasbro Pulse, who will be showcasing the highly anticipated Plasma Series Ectomobile HasLab in person from 12:00 to 3:00 PM. In addition to the updated Ecto-1 display, Hasbro is teasing “surprise product reveals,” which many fans believe could include the long-rumored Plasma Series four-pack.

And because one day of celebration just isn’t enough, Yes Have Some is hosting the official Ghostbusters Day Kickoff Party the night before on Friday, June 6. The evening promises a live show, open bar, exclusive merch, and surprise guests, one of whom might be a certain famed director, given today’s news.


Ghostbusters star McKenna Grace joins cast of Scream VII


Rounding back to Saturday, the NYC Ghostbusters will return for their third year with ECTO-NYC, guiding the Filming Location Walking Tour and distributing the fully funded Ghostbusters Day Zine. Also confirmed is the debut of ECTO-1 Manhattan, a screen-accurate replica recently acquired at a Barrett-Jackson auction.

Entertainment for the day includes live performances by The Alessi Brothers and The Mad Splatter, an appearance by Joe Cirillo, and music and emcee duties hosted by STEVE-O, while fans are encouraged to bring their franchise patches for trading.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Thomas R. Elsasser Fund, which supports the families of FDNY firefighters who have passed away in non-line-of-duty circumstances.
