Hard to believe as it is, Steven Universe aired its last season five years ago and it’s been pretty quiet ever since.
Steven’s adventures were a very big deal in my house post and during covid, with my son and daughter both being big, big fans of the series… they’re older now and have moved on, such is the way of things, but both showed a little glimpse of excitement when i told them a new Steven Universe series, Lars in the Stars was coming.
Although my son did say, ‘Hopefully it’s better than the final season!’.
The new series, set for Prime Video, ‘explores the past, present and future of the universe. The sequel follows Lars Barriga, eternal teenager and space outlaw, as he and his pirate crew smuggle contraband, evade the authorities and uncover the darkest secrets of the fallen Gem Empire.’

Creator and EP Rebecca Sugar has said confirmed the new series is not yet greenlit and if it is, will not go to Cartoon Network like all the previous Steven Universe seasons and movie.
“I miss my world and my characters,” Sugar said, “I can’t wait to share [the sequel] with you and can’t thank you enough for all your support.”
Four new Ghostbusters movies – live-action & animated – planned?
I’d certainly be keen to see more of this world – universe – and maybe, just maybe, it would be a reason to spend some time with my kids again, like we did back before the 2020s.
Thoughts? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all!
