Strap yourself in, Wolverine fans, because it really looks like Hugh Jackman isn’t done playing Logan yet…
So, X-Men and Wolverine fans will know that in 2017’s Logan movie, it seemed that, after almost two decades in the role, Hugh Jackman was saying goodbye to the role that made him famous and he was given a noble sendoff as the character sacrificed himself to save the next generation of mutants.
It was all quite emotional, really.
And then last year, he returned to the role alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool for Deadpool and Wolverine and now it seems that it’s likely we’re going to see him pop up in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.
However, it looks like there could be a much bigger adventure waiting as Marvel has registered the name Wolverine with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), leading some to believe that a new standalone Wolverine movie is coming, with Jackman likely suiting up in the yellow and blue again.
But what about the noble ending? Well, quite simply, Jackman said he changed his mind and he’s not even going apologise.
Fair play lol.
In a recent episode of Actors on Actors, chatting to Wicked and The Outcast star Cynthia Erivo, Jackman laid it all on the line: “I’ve learned it’s as important to mark the ending of something as it is the beginning… It doesn’t feel like the end [when it comes to Wolverine.] It really felt like the end after ‘Logan’.

“Actually, I needed to claim it as the end, because I really believed in some things that I wanted that movie to be, and I had to fight for them. I had to say, “This is the last time I’m doing it.” Then when I saw “Deadpool,” I was like, “Oh. I see ‘48 Hrs.’ I see Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte.” But I would shove it down. “I’ve told everyone that I’m done. I’m not one of those guys.” Then I went, “You know what? I change my mind. It’s not that big of a deal. I’m not even gonna say I’m sorry.” And it was so awesome.”
Is Jackman preparing the fans for a big future as Logan/Wolverine? Look, as much as I can’t wait to find out who the next Logan will be, I’d be lying if I said I’m not looking forward to seeing more Jackman in the role… heck, there’s a potential Old Man Logan in his future if he keeps going.
Anyways, a new Wolverine movie looks like it’s on the horizon… and Jackman has more in him, yet. So, we’re here for it all.
Thoughts? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all…
