RUMOUR: Jamie Lee Curtis filmed Scream 7 cameo

I don’t usually report on rumours like this but this one is so much fun, I wanted to.

Scooper Beyond Reporter over on X, is reporting the rumour that Halloween and True Lies star Jamie Lee Curtis, one of the original scream queens herself, has filmed a fun little cameo for Scream 7 but it doesn’t look like it’s going to make it into the final cut.

The site reports: “Jamie Lee Curtis Filmed A Cameo In Scream 7. Apparently, if the scene is true, it didn’t make the final cut. Jamie Lee Curtis Appears At The End of the Movie, Buying Coffee From Sidney.”

Tidbit:

In a recent interview, Jamie Lee Curtis was asked if she could make a sequel to any of her movies, which would it be and, without hesitation, she said she’d call her friends Arnold (Schwarzenegger) and Jim (Cameron) and ask them to do True Lies  2.
Although she also makes it clear that, as far as she knows, she knows it can’t happen.

We already know that in the new movie, Sidney Prescott, played once again by Neve Campbell, has settled down and owns a little coffee/ice cream place, so this makes sense, although, if the rumour is true (and I really hope it is), it makes sense that the scene was cut, especially as it’s only a brief cameo.

Firstly, it feels a little like a passing of the torch kind of deal, which makes sense in the ‘scream queen’ way but not in-universe. There’s no chance that Curtis’ appearance here is setting up a Scream/Halloween crossover, she’s (almost) definitely not playing Laurie Strode, and the studio is probably worried that fans might think that’s what’s happening.

So, I get it.

But also, I really hope it’s a) true and b) in the movie.

What do you all think? If, in some crazy way it WAS setting up a crossover, would you be on for it?

Thoughts? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all.
