Evil Dead Burn – first details and synopsis revealed

April 17th, 2026 by Marc Comments

Audiences at CineaCon were given a first look at director Sébastien Vaniček’s upcoming and highly anticipated Evil Dead Burn, and word is it’s vicious, brutal, and unrelenting, and they only saw a couple of minutes.

The director had previously said of his installment in the 45-year-old franchise: “It’s a horror and survival film on a very reduced timeline, with a race against time aspect. Which doesn’t prevent moments of relief: there is probably more humor than in the Fede Álvarez remake [released in 2013].

“However, it gets close to it on the horror side. It’s perhaps the least bloody of the Evil Dead films, but undoubtedly the most violent and brutal. Let’s say I’m aiming more for the discomfort of the famous teeth on the sidewalk scene from American History X than excessive gore.”

And it seems that he keeps to his word with a car door, a car headrest, and an open dishwasher all being used to inflict great pain and death on the characters.

But that’s not all, we also got our first synopsis of the movie: After losing her husband, a woman seeks comfort at her in-laws in their remote home. But when they’re turned into Deadites one by one, the family reunion becomes a hellish nightmare. Soon she realizes that the promises she made to herself in life matter… even in death.

Tidbit:

Shhhhhhhhhhh… don’t tell anyone, but the Evil Dead Burn teaser attached to Lee Cronin’s The Mummy [not the same one seen at CinemaCon]can be watched HERE.

Man, this is seconds long and it’s a while knuckle ride, I can only imagine what the movie will be like.

I’m sharing it here because these teasers are rarely, if ever, screened here in the UK.

Also revealed at CinemaCon, it seems that the next Evil Dead movie after Evil Dead Burn, Evil Dead Wrath, is further away than we suspected, with the updated release date being April 7th, 2028.

Thoughts? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all.

Evil Dead Burn arrives in theaters on July 24th, 2026.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife.
