FIRST LOOK: John Krasinski announces A Quiet Place 3 has started filming

If, like us here at FTN HQ, you’re a big fan of the A Quiet Place franchise, then today is a big news day as writer/director John Krasinski has revealed that filming has officially kicked off on A Quiet Place 3.

While this is A Quiet Place 3, it should be said that it’s actually the fourth movie in the franchise after A Quiet Place: Day One

The filming began a little under two months after Krasinski revealed that the cast for the movie would feature his returning real-life wife, Emily Blunt, as the mother fighting to keep her children alive in a world swarming with alien hunters that kill anything that makes a sound.

Krasinski reveals cast for A Quiet Place Part III

Blunt will star along with Sinners’ Jack O’Connell, House of Dynamite’s Jason Clarke, and The Mandalorian’s Katy O’Brien. Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe will all return from A Quiet Place Part II.

Krasinski will once again be producing, writing, and directing (he starred in the first one too!). The star announced the filming by sharing a photo of the film slate in front of the Manhattan Bridge Arch and Colonnade in New York City’s Chinatown, left, writing: “Here. We. Go. Part III”.

Worth noting is that when Krasinski revealed the cast in March, he shared a post with the Hamilton track One Last Time playing, leading many to believe that this will be the final chapter in the story for this family. We wouldn’t worry too much, though, because, as A Quiet Place: Day One showed, there’s plenty of other stories to be told in this world.

Thoughts? I know you have them, and I wanna hear ’em all.

A Quiet Place: Part III is set to release on July 30th, 2027

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
