Simon Pegg: Myself, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright are working on a second (Cornetto) Trilogy?

August 19th, 2014 by Marc Comments

How’s this for a slice of fried gold?!

Simon Pegg, talking to  BBC 6 Music, confirmed that although the Cornetto Trilogy drew to a close with the love it or hate it (love, in case you’re wondering) The World’s End, the trio of Frost, Wright and Pegg are thinking about moving forward again: “Edgar and I were having a conversation the other day about it, and it has a title and everything. We’re kind of into a creative cycle now.

“The coming-together thing is without question on the table and will happen when we can do it.”

He went on to tickle and tantalise:  “We made three films in ten years and hopefully in the next decade we’ll make another three. I really love working with those guys and I wouldn’t ever not want to work with them. It’s not even a question.”

So another trilogy? well, if it’s half as good as the last one it’ll still be well worth the wait…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
