The Edgar Awards, voted by the Mystery Writers Of America, has announced its nominations for 2015 with one notable sci-fi novel included: World Of Trouble, the final book in Ben H. Winters’ outstanding pre-apocalyptic mystery trilogy The Last Policeman in the Best Paperback Original category.

No stranger to awards, The Last Policeman won the Edgar back in 2012, with the second book in the series Countdown City winning the 2014 Philip K. Dick award.

The series, following rookie detective Hank Palace as he tries to conduct an investigation while he and the rest of the world come to terms with the impending impact of a huge asteroid in just six months time, has also been optioned for development as a T.V. show by Transformers producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura.
