COMIC REVIEW: FTN reviews Forever Evil #4

January 3rd, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Writer: Geoff Johns

Artist: David Finch

Published by DC Comics

I think an alternate title for issue #4 should be ‘Scheming’ as that is really what everyone was doing in this one. The unexpected emotions were pretty awesome, from Catwoman caring for Batman, to Luthor trying to comfort Bizarro. Geoff Johns does a spectacular job it making this worldwide terror much smaller and more personal for our heroes, villains and everyone in between. It’s a little strange, but I think my favorite part had to be Bizarro being frightened. Such an odd thing that I wasn’t expecting, so it was pretty nice.

I’m not too sure where Sinestro came from, but that was a little weird. Perhaps next issue will help it out a bit.

I’m kind of falling in love with David Finch’s style with Sonia Oback’s colors. The double spreads and single splashes were absolutely gorgeous. The attention to detail was outstanding.

So…a surprise guest to the party? There are a whole lot of people in a small space, and we all know that never ends well. And Superwoman is up to a whole lot of bad, it seems. This is starting to ramp up, and I’m pretty sure everyone is going to be screwed regardless.
