Hello and welcome to the latest episode of the Following the Nerd Podcast.

On the show this week we will be talking about all the latest nerdy news as well as chatting to the director of short movie Welcome To Forever, Laddie Ervin. The movie will be competing at Sci-Fi London this year and we’ve got the honour of debuting the trailer which has just gone live here.

In the news sections we’ll be looking at the Legends of Tomorrow trailer which debuted late last week and totally blew our minds… could DC’s answer to Avengers actually be a TV show?

One of the big rumours of the week is that Matthew McConaughey is close to signing on at Marvel to play a popular Spider-man villain.

We’ll also be talking about how The Simpsons will survive without Mr Burns, Smithers, Flanders, Otto, Rev Lovejoy and Principal Skinner among others as actor Harry Shearer says goodbye to TV’s longest running animated show.

Plus, we’ll be talking about Disney’s apparent plans for Marvel and Star Wars TV channels and we’re sort of excited to hear that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is coming back for Fast & Furious 8… and maybe a Hobbs spin-off movie.

We’ll also have Stuart from the Monday Movie Show on with the latest movie news, videogame news and boxoffice top ten countdown.

As always, I’m your host Marc and with me once more in the studio I have the man who has more superhero teeshirts than HMV. He spend all of last week tied to a bed in a catholic church… after the voice demo tape he sent for the new job on the Simpsons was leaked online and they thought the Devil had moved to Lisburn.

His family know him as Stephen but to everyone else he’s known simply as… Saxon

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
