Adam Driver says there is no truth to rumors that he’ll be playing Nightwing in Batman Vs. Superman

November 17th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Despite rumors that the Girls actor was Warner Bros.’ top choice for the role of Dick Grayson/ Nightwing in the Batman Vs Superman movie, Adam Driver has signed up for a new movie that would more than likely keep him busy during Batman vs. Superman filming. The movie is director Saverio Costanzo‘s Hungry Hearts. While this doesn’t close the door to Nightwing completely, maybe there was never one to begin with.

Collider while talking to actor about his new movie Inside Llewyn Davis, asked Driver if he was a fan of Batman and Superman. The actor  laughed like he knew what was coming, but actually admitted that he was a big fan. Then he was asked if there was any truth to the recent rumors:

No! Not that I know of. No, no.

Driver then told Steven Weintraub if he found out he should definitely let him know because he had no clue. He did say that all these rumors were very flattering:

It’s intensely flattering as you can imagine. It’s Batman and Superman, who doesn’t want to be involved with something that’s…not only of that scale, but who those characters are. That’s an incredible world to be in for a bit. Who wouldn’t want to do that?

The other two names that were rumored for the role are Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl) and Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower).

What do you think?

Batman Vs Superman is being scripted by David S. Goyer from a story he co-created with Snyder. Man of Steel‘s Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman in the film along with Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will also reprise their roles in the sequel. It is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
