We’re only about 3 months from the premiere of Arrow Season 3, and news is continuing to roll out about who we’ll be meeting.
Yesterday, we reported that Katana will be in the show’s Hong Kong flashbacks. Today, we have the casting of Oliver’s handler…who happens to be Katana’s husband.
TVline.com reports that Karl Yune, pictured below next to Hugh Jackman, has been cast as Maseo Yamashiro. He’ll serve as a handler to Oliver in the flashbacks, but also slowly become a teacher to him. And a friend.
To all you DC fans out there, you may getting a feeling of Deja Vu when you see that name. In recent DC comics (aka New 52), Katana is a warrior for revenge after the loss of her husband Maseo. She believes with all her heart that his spirit now lives within her sword, and is now on a mission of vengeance to kill the ones who took her husband from her.
Will this be another Slade situation where past and present collide? We’ll find out on Oct. 8th!
