Pitch Perfect 2 and The Edge of Seventeen star Hailee Steinfeld is eyeing a role in the standalone Bumblebee movie.
The actress, who had a starring role in True Grit back in 2010, is said to be in talks with Paramount for the role of “a tomboy who also holds a job as a mechanic after school“.
Not much is known about the film except that it is intended to be a “lower cost‘ instalment in the Transformers franchise.
The current draft of the screenplay, from the Transformers writers room, was penned by Christina Hodson (Black List).
Bumblebee is set to open on 8 June 2018.
