Cancelled U.S. Series The Killing Revived by Netflix

November 16th, 2013 by Andrew Comments

Cancelled U.S. Series to be brought back from the dead for a final 6 episode season by Netflix.

After three seasons during which the show was cancelled twice, it appeared that cable channel AMC’s U.S. remake of Danish series ‘Forbrydelsen’, starring Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman was gone for good. But the show has now been saved once again, this time by the internet, by Netflix, who are ramping up their output of shows after the success of original shows ‘House Of Cards’, ‘Hemlock Grove’, ‘Orange Is The New Black’ and their season revival of comedy favourite ‘Arrested Development’.

Though the series won’t receive a full 13 episode season as it normally would have received on AMC, it will receive a mini-season order of 6 episodes to fully wrap up the series and give fans a conclusion to the story. Just recently, it was also announced that Netflix were teaming up with Marvel Studios to bring us several of their characters to life in series of their own, so this will be added to their upcoming schedule of self-produced series.

There’s no confimed date when to expect the final season of The Killing, but it’s likely that the entire 6 episodes will be released simultaneously as has happened with Netflix’s other self-produced series. Watch this space for an update as soon as we have one.
