Many a comic book fan are familiar with Frank Miller’s title The Dark Knight Returns. In fact, many point to it as the defining tale that transformed Batman into the being we see him as today in many rights. Also, it’s allegedly the inspiration (of sorts) behind the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Well if Bleeding Cool is to be believed, a third book in this series is going to be made, and it will be co-written by Scott Snyder.

Snyder is easily one of the best writers at DC currently, and currently rights the Batman monthly comic, while also helping to guide certain parts of the Bat-universe. So for him and Miller to work on this is nothing short of epic.

To be clear, the book as of yet has not been confirmed…but it’s being talked about! Aside from the story, which is supposedly going to focus on Carrie Kelly, the Robin from the original book, the only current issue is the artist who will be drawing this. Miller drew the original two, but is reportedly unwell, and thus can’t do this. Snyder is recommending Sean Murphy, who worked with him on The Wake, to draw this, but no word as of yet.

Also circling is the notion that this might not be a graphic novel like the other two, but a series of issues. Time will tell to see which happens, and with who!
