Death Walks: a zombie movie with a difference

November 5th, 2013 by Marc Comments

Production is about to wrap on a zombie movie called Death Walks – but this isn’t any normal zombie film.

Created by Spencer Hawken, Death Walks is a zero budget horror movie set in an East London shopping centre.

The film is primarily aimed at the zombie audience, however there is something uniquely different about the film.

Despite the zero budget, it has some big budget production values with a great cast including Lucinda Rhodes (Dream Team, Fall Of The Essex Boys), Francesca Ciardi (Cannibal Holocaust) and Jessie Williams, star of BBCchildren’s shows Tracy Beaker Returns and The Dumping Ground.

Everything involved in the creation of the movie has come to the production team free of charge, including insurance – all by the power of persuasion.

Spencer Hawken says his team’s goal is to prove that if you have the real want to make a movie, you can, “so those amazing ideas that you might have can become a
reality, and in making Death Walks we prove you truly can”.

Death Walks will be released in 2014.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
