According to Variety, Evangeline Lilly is in talks to join the cast of Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man. The LOST star is said to be up for a leading role in the film.
Although Lilly’s potential role is unknown, the trade suggest that she might either be playing a love interest to Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang, the daughter of Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym, or possibly both.
The role in question could also be Janet Van Dyne who aka the Wasp. In the comics she was Hank Pym’s wife, so of course this would be a slightly different take.
Rashida Jones and Bryce Dallas Howard were previously rumored to be in contention for a female lead in the film.
Edgar Wright is directing from a script that he has co-written with Joe Cornish (Attack the Block). So far it stars Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd as Hank Pym and Scott Lang, respectively.
The film, which will launch Marvel’s Phase Three, will hit theaters on July 17th, 2015.
