Invasion Dublin
3rd-5th May
RDS, Dublin

Invason Dublin will see the return of The Emerald Garrison. This Invasion promises to be bigger than ever before with more guests, more costumed characters and more prop builds than Darth Vader can shake a fist at (Oh and the asthmatic Dark Lord of the Sith will be in attendance too).

Taking over the exhibition arena at the RDS, The Emerald Garrison will be displaying their incredible Star Wars replica costumes, encompassing everything from the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, the clone wars cartoon series and even the computer games, comics and books.

As always, fans will be able to pose for pictures beside Stormtroopers, Clone Troopers, Jedi, Sith, not to mention Darth Vader and The Emperor themselves! There could even be appearances by Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and maybe even a droid or two.

Attendees will marvel at the out of this galaxy detail on the prop,s such as The Imperial ION Canon from The Empire Strikes Back, Speeder Bikes and Clone Walkers and who knows, maybe the vilest gangster in the galaxy, Jabba the Hutt could be lurking on his throne?

For those fans who wish to meet the actors from the films they will not be disappointed. Guests confirmed include Alan Ruscoe (Plo Kloon – The Phantom Menace), Femi Taylor (Jabba’s Dancing Girl – Return of the Jedi), Alan Harris (Bossk – The Empire Strikes Back). Also in attendance are Bruin Muir (Film sculpter) and Will Sliney (Star Wars and Marvel Artist).

The guests will be taking part in Q&As throughout the weekend, hosted by your very own Following the Nerd (Oh and look out for quizzes, talks, cosplay competitons and much, much more), with many opportunities for autograph and photograph hunters to purchase those personalised collectibles. There will also be a number of vendors selling various collectibles and memorabilia, all relating to Star Wars.

As if that weren’t enough, there will be face painting (for those budding Yoda and Ewok Look-a-likes) and The Force Academy where young Padawans (sorry but older Padawans and Jedi aren’t allowed to wield their light Sabers in public!) will learn the ways of the Force.

So hop onto to your speeder, put captain Solo in the cargo hold and see this out of the universe event and May the Force Be With You!
