EVENT PREVIEW: FTN set for London Film and Comic Con this weekend

October 4th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Greetings fellow Nerds and Nerdettes; it seems like it was only yesterday that I was reporting from London Film and Comic Con (well it was July, actually), however I have great news. London Film and Comic is back!

This weekend, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October, will see the London Film and Comic Con taking place at The Olympia Grand Hall, London and it once again looks like a weekend to remember.

With many film and television shows being covered this year, including Doctor Who, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Stargate SG-1, Flash Gordon, The Hobbit, Blade Runner, Star Wars, ET and even Mad Max (Have I missed anyone?), there really is a genre that will suit everyone.

Guests for this event include Billie Piper, Natasha Henstridge (Species), Michael Shanks (Stargate SG-1), Jon Berntahl (The Walking Dead) , Sam Jones and Brian Blessed (Flash Gordon), Paul McGann (Doctor Who), Julian Glover (The Empire Strikes Back) and that’s just a taste.

LFCC wouldn’t do a comic con without the comic and there is plenty on display this year. With comic artists, writers, colourists and editors, there are names attending that will make any comic aficionado drool over their favourite artwork.

The comic guests include Lee Bradley and John Paul Bove (Transformers), Lee Townsend (Marvel), Tiernen Trevallion (2000 AD), JW Rinzler (Star Wars). There is also in attendance a number of authors including L.A. Weatherly (The Angel Trilogy), Lucy Christopher (The Killing Woods) and Sarah J Maas (Throne of Glass).

With the numerous talks, cosplay, demonstrations, autographs and photo opportunities taking place throughout the entire weekend, there will never be enough time in the day to sample it all!

But fear not, as I will be braving the cold weather and getting photos galore with guests and attendees alike and perhaps even grab an interview or two. So if you are in London this weekend, get yourself down to LFCC for a star-studded weekend and feel free to say hello to The Nerd (that will be me in the red shirt).
