Given the popularity among fans and what Marvel is doing with Agents of SHIELD, it’s been a hope of many that the CW’s series Arrow is somehow connected to the DC Cinematic Universe. This includes star Stephen Amell as well, as he has fueled such talk by tweeting out pictures of Justice League and has mentioned his desire to appear alongside Batman and Superman on the big screen. It seems it hasn’t even been talked about by those who could make it happen.
Speaking with Fandango, Executive Producer Greg Berlanti says there haven’t been any discussions between the creative team on Arrow and the decision makers at Warner Bros. about meshing them together:
“We haven’t had any of those conversations other than to say, what characters are we allowed to use this year and advocate or request certain ones that are of interest to us. And every now and then, they’ll say, ‘You can’t have that guy.’ They don’t say why, and we figure out why later on.”
I for one never thought it would really work because they are adding so many characters to the show. If they wanted it could serve as the origin story for superheroes to appear in Justice League I guess, but wouldn’t they have at least started planning by now?
Is it a connected TV and DCCU something you want to see?
