Felicity Jones confirms she had input in her Amazing Spider-Man 2 costume

December 25th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Fans seem to think that Felicity Jones is playing either Black Cat or Menace in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. She kind of almost confirmed that she was Black Cat before.  Then in July in an interview with the View London, Jones admitted that her role in the film was “shrouded in secrecy,” but she may have let slip a potential spoiler about the movie anyway:

“I’m the Goblin’s girlfriend — I’m in a relationship with him, and his accomplice. I’m on the dark side.”

She back pedaled a bit on the Felicia Hardy (Black Cat) stuff when asked what her character’s name was:

“It’s all in the vaults of Marvel. I love all that secrecy, I think it’s great. It builds anticipation, there’s too much transparency in everything these days.”

Well I guess she really doesn’t dislike transparency as much as she says, since she let some info slip while talking with Collider about The Invisible Woman.

When asked about how it was working on something as huge as The Amazing Spider-Man 2:

“It’s a completely different experience.  That’s why I wanted to do something like that.  I’ve done a lot of very low-budget indie films, so it was just really exciting and fun to be doing a film where there’s a lot more time and these huge, vast sets.  I was like a kid in a playground.  It was amazing!”

When asked if she had any input on her costumes:

”Oh, yeah, totally!  Absolutely!  It’s a medium that’s very collaborative.  Actors and directors work on things together.  That’s how I like to work, anyway.  I don’t want to be told what to do.  I want to share it with someone and work it out together.  You know that person better than anyone.  That’s my job.”

Now they asked her about costumes not outfits or wardrobe, so did she just confirm that she will be wearing a costume?

My vote is still for Black Cat, Peter is going to need some back up.

Who do you think she is?

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Marc Webb directed movie stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jaimie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti and Sally Field.

The film is set to swing into theaters on April 18th, 2014 in the UK and on May 2nd in the US. While the third film is currently set for release on June 10, 2016 and a fourth film in the franchise to follow on May 4, 2018.
