Now this is a return to the MCU we’re genuinely excited for.
It’s been fifteen years and it was a completely different Bruce Banner, but Liv Tyler is back as Betty Ross for the upcoming Captain America: New World Order.
In the second MCU movie Tyler played Ross: scientist, lover of then Edward Norton’s Bruce Banner and daughter of Thadeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, played by the late William Hurt at the time – now to be replaced by Harrison Ford in the movie – it’s a very different world this time out, isn’t it?
Mark Ruffalo would come along and replace Norton in Avengers in 2012 and Tyler’s Ross hasn’t been mentioned since. She joins Tim Roth who returned to the MCU as Emil Blonsky/Abomination in last year’s She-Hulk – Let’s hope Tyler’s return is more impressive than that outing – and Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/Leader who will also be returning from 2008’s Incredible Hulk.
It’s a real reunion, this one.
The movie will see Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson star as Captain America along with Carl Lumbly’s Isaiah Bradley and Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres/Falcon.
Captain America: New World Order, directed by Cloverfield Paradox’s Julius Onah is set for a May 3rd, 2024 release.
