First look at Lawrence Gilliard Jr.’s Bob Stookey in season 4 of The Walking Dead

The Wire‘s Lawrence Gilliard Jr. is playing the TV version of former Army medic Bob Stookey in season four of The Walking Dead. But in the AMC show he won’t be a resident of Woodbury, instead he’s found by Daryl Dixon about a week before the season takes place. Showrunner Scott M. Gimple explains that his character will be going through some issues:

“His back story is not entirely the same as in the comic and the novel. I think he’s seen things go bad over and over, and winding up in this stable place doesn’t shake him from his experience. He struggles with that.”

Gillard Jr. says as much also:

“You can see there’s something deeper and darker that’s going on with this character, just from the first episode. We don’t really know what it is. We just know he’s got some issues that he’s dealing with.”

I guess we’d all have issues in a zombie apocalypse wouldn’t we?
