Production has officially begun on The Last Witch Hunter, and star Vin Diesel has taken to his Facebook page to reveal the first photo from the film. Along with the note:
“13th century Kaulder… The Last Witch Hunter begins…”
The movie is about an immortal witch hunter (Diesel) that partners with his natural enemy, a female witch, to stop the covens of NYC from unleashing a plague on humanity.
Breck Eisner (The Crazies, Sahara) is directing. The script began as a pitch by Cory Goodman. D.W Harper and Dallas Buyers Club writer Melisa Wallack also worked on the script. Most recently Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama (Gods of Egypt) did a polish on it.
The cast includes Rose Leslie, Elijah Wood, Michael Caine, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.
The Last Witch Hunter doesn’t have an official release date yet.
