Guillermondel Toro has revealed that the classic Frankenstein story may be headed to the small screen.

The Hellboy director has been speaking in recent months about his love for the character and that Universal had approached him about taking on the project.

Whilst this new iteration won’t be for the big screen, del Toro could well be the man to give this horror favourite a show we fans deserve.

When I do it, I need to do it. Like, if I do Frankenstein, I literally would stop everything, and I’m going to a sabbatical of three years, just to write that. It’s not something that’s gonna just flow, like second nature. It’s my favorite book in history,” he said.

Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
