The Gears of War movie has got a new screenwriter.

According to Variety, Shane Salerno will pen the script for the video game adaptation based on Microsoft Studios’ Xbox game franchise.

Gears of War is a military sci-fi third person shooter that centres on the soldiers of Delta Squad, originally soldier Marcus Fenix, in their last-ditch fight to save the human inhabitants of the planet Sera from an invasion of unstoppable subterranean creatures known as the Locust Horde.

Salerno previously penned the scripts for Michael Bay’s Armageddon and Oliver Stone‘s Savages. He has also been working on the screenplays for James Cameron‘s four upcoming Avatar sequels and Ridley Scott‘s adaptation of the acclaimed Don Winslow novel, The Cartel.

Hi all. I'm Bash and love anything and everything to do with Star Wars. Although I've watched hundreds of movies, read dozens of books and played numerous computer games from other genres and franchises since, nothing has come close to seeing George Lucas' epic for the very first time. I hope you all like the site and come back often.
