Is the Han Solo standalone film set to become a trilogy?

Well, according to Confidenti@l, via the The New York Daily News, actor Alden Ehrenreich, who’s been confirmed as playing our favourite scoundrel, has signed a three-picture deal, paving the way for more Han Solo film if the one currently being written becomes a box office success.

A NY Daily News insider said: “There is a real sense of excitement around the Han Solo movie and its potential. Given that Han’s early adventures do not need to be tied to the Empire, it leaves story lines open with the opportunity to really give fans something different. They can explore new galaxies and crazy creatures and bring in a wide array of new characters.”

The first film will be helmed by ‘Lego Movie’ and ‘Jump Street’ directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
