Is Peter Mayhew back for Star Wars: Episode VII?

March 28th, 2014 by Edwin Torres Jr Comments

This morning, the Comicpalooza convention in Houston, Texas tweeted the following:

Comicpalooza is held May 23-26 and Star Wars : Episode VII was recently confirmed to start filming in May 2014 with:

“a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces.”

Now Mayhew doesn’t exactly star in a lot of films, so it would be quite the coincidence that he’s filming a new project in May. If I had to guess I would say the mighty Chewbacca will be making his return to a galaxy far, far away.

Hopefully we get some more official information soon.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a script that he wrote with Lawrence Kasdan. The movie will focus on a new generation of heroes and could include appearances by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in older versions of their iconic characters from the original Star Wars trilogy. The film is set to begin shooting in May of 2014 and will hit theaters on December 18th, 2015.
