Kevin Feige says Marvel Cinematic Universe may be planned up until 2021

August 8th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

There is no doubt that Marvel has a game plan when it comes to their Cinematic Universe.

They’ve already set release dates for untitled movies set to be released on May 6th and July 8th, of 2016 and another for May 5th of 2017.

At FTN we’re hoping they announce what these films are at Disney’s D23 Expo later this week, and that one of them is Doctor Strange

But according to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige that’s just the beginning. He says they’ve got things mapped out as far down the road as 2021! Here’s what he had to say in an interview with Wired:

“I could arguably say what we’re planning for the year 2021. Will that happen? I don’t know. But what we planned for 2015 in 2006 is happening.”

So all the way back in 2006 Marvel knew they would be doing an Avengers sequel and  Ant-Man. Feige continued:

“Five years ago, looking at our plan, we knew that if Avengers was going to work, the movies had to stand alone. Now we have to prove to the studio that we’re more than just these five characters, these five franchises.”

So let’s assume that Doctor Strange and Black Panther are safe bets, what Marvel characters would you like to see get movies?
