Kevin Smith hospitalised with “massive heart attack”

Writer, director, uber-geek and fountain of pop-cultural references and swear-words Kevin Smith was taken to hospital last night during a stand-up gig.

Smith was performing on stage in Glendale, California, when he was taken ill. Shortly after canceling the second set that night, he collapsed and was rushed to hospital with what Smith has since described as “a massive heart attack” caused by a blockage in his LAD artery.

After an operation to clear the blockage, it seems that Silent Bob is in a good, if serious, condition. He managed to post this image to social media from his hospital bed:
