Live-Action Rurouni Kenshin to get a pair of sequels

June 29th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Two new live-action Rurouni Kenshin films have been officially given the green light for next summer. Both films will cover the Kyoto arc of Nobuhiro Watsuki’s original manga, specifically, the Great Kyoto Fire and Legend’s End storylines.

Takeru Satoh  will be reprising the star role of Kenshin Himura. No further details on any other returning cast members at the moment. The first film did perform higher than expected, earning $70 million dollars on a very modest budget.

This is the trailer for the original movie that came out in 2012
