Margot Robbie in talks to star in Ghost in the Shell

September 4th, 2014 by Andrew McCarroll 1 Comment

Well it looks like the Ghost in the Shell movie is definitely going ahead. Directed by Rupert Sanders last seen at the helm of Snow White and the Huntsman, a film memorable only for the fact that the director cheated on his wife with charisma vacuum Kristen Stewart on set and its inexplicable €400 million box office haul.

It looks like the director has found his Major Motoko Kusanagi. Margot Robbie, last seen teasing the Christ out of Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf Of Wall Street is set to take on the lead role of the iconic cyborg.

Based on the popular Japanese manga created by Masamune Shirow, the story follows the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime.

The film is expected to go into production early next year which marks the 20th Anniversary(I am so old) of the release of the Manga animated movie.

No word yet on possible casting choices for Batou and Ishikawa but feel free to speculate wildly…………….go

Andrew McCarroll never quite built on the dizzying career heights that he hit at 6 years old, when as a member of the “Ghostbusters” he would charge his neighbours to remove any unwanted spectres. Now retired from slaying spooks, he spends his time obsessing over superheroes (especially Batman) and devouring shows like Dexter, Game of Thrones and Archer in a manner that would make Galactus proud.
