Marvel planning Prequel era Star Wars comics

January 22nd, 2015 by Marc Comments

With Marvel making a triumphant (in our opinion, anyway) return to the Star Wars universe last week, we’re excited to see what’s still to come…

Well, Jedi News are reporting that Marvel’s editor Jordan D White on his Perfectly Normal blog teased at other eras that they’ll explore… and the prequel ers is in there.

“So far, of the four projects we’ve announced, three of them are set during the original trilogy. The idea there is that we want to first establish a sort of core line for Star Wars—the way the X-Men line or Avengers line have a core of books that can interact with each other, and readers can read some or all of them. Things that happen in one book can echo through the other, so to speak.

“But the fourth book,” he adds, “Kanan, is set between the trilogies for the most part—it starts with the story of how Kanan survived order 66.”

“I look very much forward to doing stories set in the prequel era—I have a couple of ideas for series I think would fit really well there. But we have nothing to announce just yet.”

We’re so excited about Star Wars right now that we’re actually a little embarassed. Not really.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
