Fans of Marvel’s collaborations with Netflix will be dancing the happy dance, because not only has the filming of Jessica Jones been confirmed, but it has also been revealed that it will be done back-to-back with hero mash-up series The Defenders.
When chatting to Digital Spy, Krysten Ritter chatted about her next outings as Hell’s Kitchen’s unhinged PI, saying “They’ll be back-to-back. I don’t know if they’ll overlap a little bit… It’s about to be a serious undertaking. I’m starting my physical training – lots of weight training and boxing.”
She continues, “I’m excited to see what happens next for Jessica, and the end of season one left a lot of doors open and questions unanswered… Kilgrave was her reason for getting up every morning. Saving people gave her purpose. I wonder how emotionally taxed she’s going to be now.”
The Defenders will (almost certainly) be the first time we see Jones, Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage come together on screen. We’re also really hoping that The Punisher makes a wee appearance before heading on to his own series, which will be the next one to follow.
Could one of them pop up in Jessica Jones season 2 first though? Ritter has high hopes; “That opens a lot of doors as to who will come out and play. We all live in the same universe, so there are endless possibilities.”
Up next is Luke Cage, who hits Netflix on the 20th September
