It seems like director Roland Emmerich is eyeing Chronicle‘s Michael B. Jordan for a major role in 20th Century Fox’s Independence Day 2. According to The Wrap the actor:
“has met with director Roland Emmerich and is highly regarded on the Fox lot.”
Jordan has not received an offer yet and official casting, they say, is not expected to happen until closer to the holidays.
Jordan has been linked to rumors regarding playing the Human Torch, being in Star Wars, and in talks for a Rocky spin-off titled Creed.
Will Smith was said to be in talks to return and Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are expected to reprise their roles. The sequel is set for a release on July 3, 2015
