Deadline are reporting that Michelle Yeoh has been cast as a Starfleet captain in the forthcoming Star Trek series Discovery.
The Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon actress will not however be in charge of U.S.S. Discovery but captain of the ship Shenzhou having landed the role of Han Bo.
Producer Nicholas Meyer recently confirmed the actress’ involvement making her the first apparent hire for the new live-action series which will focus on a first officer, as opposed to a captain.
Star Trek: Discovery hits CBS All Access in the US and Canada in May (with the pilot debuting on CBS itself) and on Netflix worldwide.
