Get ready for the new daily show

Misfits is cancelled

April 3rd, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

It has been announced that the new series of Misfits will be the last.

In a joint statement creator Howard Overman, E4 and Clerkenwell films have said this new series will be the last for our super powered community workers.

While the show has seen the entire original cast depart in various forms, the new gang starring Emmerdale’s Joseph Gilgun as Rudy, will see a support group form for those who have been affected by the super powered giving storm. It will be on the first anniversary of the storm and things will not be as they seem.

Rudy who has separate physical personalities will turn to the group and discover an enemy that will test them all to their limits. We’ve had penis stealing, time loops, the power to bring back the dead, mental powers and figures from video games come to life but this will be expanded on via the ability to turn into turtles of all things. But now the new eight part series will go out with a bang.

Why the award winning show is being cancelled is beyond me as it is a fan favourite and has given us some of the best drama out there today. There is a rumour of a movie but for right now wait for the autumn when the final series airs on E4.
