Neill Blomkamp’s Alien movie isn’t happening

May 2nd, 2017 by bash Comments

Hopes of an Alien sequel to Aliens, and directed by Neill Blomkamp, looks doomed if comments by Ridley Scott are anything to go by.

The Prometheus director was asked by the website Allocine if the planned Alien 5 project would happen.

I don’t think, so no,” he said. “There was never a script. It was an idea which was evolved on, I think, a ten-page pitch. And I was meant to be a producer on that, and it didn’t evolve.”

Scott said Fox “decided that they didn’t want to do it, so that was that”.

Rumours of such a film appeared online last year after Blomkamp posted concept art from a project that became known as Alien 5.  The sequel apparently picked things up following Aliens, as if Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection hadn’t happened.

Alien: Covenant meanwhile, Scott’s sequel to Prometheus, arrives in cinemas later this month.

Hi all. I'm Bash and love anything and everything to do with Star Wars. Although I've watched hundreds of movies, read dozens of books and played numerous computer games from other genres and franchises since, nothing has come close to seeing George Lucas' epic for the very first time. I hope you all like the site and come back often.
