New comic book launches in Belfast

February 10th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Forbidden Planet Belfast saw the launch of Noe: The Savage Boy, a brand new comic book adventure from the trio if artist Stephen Downey, writer Mal Coney and editor Robert Curley.

Noe is a young teenager whose village is wiped out in a pirate raid and he finds himself a slave in a strange land. A God fearing boy, Noe will be changed forever by events as he battles to survive.

The turn out at Saturday’s event was a strong one and shows that there is a lot of support for new undiscovered talent in this country. All three creators were joined by Captain Jack Sparrow and one of his pirate henchmen and the event was a resounding success with the unveiling of the new variant cover of issue one.

Mal tells us that things will get a lot darker for Noe in the second issue which should be out by the summer.
