New image from Thor: The Dark World revealed

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly we have a new image of Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder from the upcoming sequel Thor: The dark World. Marvel president Kevin Feige tells them about director Alan Taylor’s new vision for Thor: The Dark World:

“Alan is bringing a grittier, more textured patina to the designs of the worlds, and to Asgard in particular. It’s less to chase either Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings – because you’re not going to catch up. But part of the fun of Thor over the other characters is he doesn’t have to stay on Earth. We visit a few of the other realms in this new movie.”

Very early on, Feige hinted that the other nine realms would play a part in the film, so it’s cool to hear that that’s something we’ll actually get to see. I really want to see how these other realms are portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

” The sequel continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.”

The movie also stars Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo, and Anthony Hopkins.

Thor: Dark World comes to all the nine realms on November 8, 2013.
