The epic journey of Bilbo Baggins and company continues on December 13th in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. We have a new image from the film featuring Orlando Bloom‘s Legolas and Evangeline Lilly’s new Elf character Tauriel, thanks to Entertainment Weekly.
The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
The movie stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Graham McTavish, Ken Stott, Aidan Turner, Dean O’Gorman, Mark Hadlow, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Peter Hambleton, William Kircher, James Nesbitt, Stephen Hunter, Luke Evans, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hits theaters on December 13 of this year while The Hobbit: There and Back Again concludes Jackson’s second Tolkien trilogy on December 17, 2014.
