RUMOR: Avengers: Age of Ultron targeting two actors for the role of Baron von Strucker?

December 20th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

It seems El Mayimbe of Latino-Review is at it again. He says there there is a breakdown circulating in Hollywood where Marvel is looking for a Physically imposing man, age range 40-50, Caucasian, for a supporting role.

According to their sources, said villain will be Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, one of the leaders of the terrorist organization Hydra who, according to them, will include in their ranks the likes of Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). This would be instead of them working for their father Magneto before becoming Avengers as Marvel has no rights to the mutant.

Strucker first appeared in 1964’s “Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos.” A former Nazi officer, Strucker’s body is host to the “Death Spore Virus,” which gives him powerful healing abilities and has stopped his aging. If he dies, however, the virus can go airborne and wipe out all life on Earth.

The two actors that marvel seems to be looking at so far are Dougray Scott and Marton Csokas.

There has been talk that the evil organization of Hydra will rear its head in Captain America: the Winter Soldier.

What do you think?

The Joss Whedon sequel stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and James Spader.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 1, 2015.
