RUMOR: Han Solo to play “gigantic” role in Star Wars: Episode VII, Oscar Isaac up for lead

April 29th, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Deadline is reporting that Inside Llewyn Davis star Oscar Isaac is in line for a lead role in J.J. Abram’s Star Wars: Episode VII.

They add that previously rumored Adam Driver, is up for a major role as well. Variety had said he would be the central villain of Episode VII.

Attack the Block’s John Boyega and a “young girl,” that might be Maisie Richardson-Sellers, are mentioned too.

The fact that these same names keep coming up from different sources must mean something.

They add a tidbit that most Star Wars fans should love, they claim that Harrison Ford’s Han Solo plays a “gigantic” part in the next chapter of the new trilogy.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a script that he wrote with Lawrence Kasdan. The movie will focus on a new generation of heroes and could include appearances by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in older versions of their iconic characters from the original Star Wars trilogy. The film is set to begin shooting in May of 2014 and will hit theaters on December 18th, 2015.
