It seems Jedi News has learned through an unnamed source, that Ian McDiarmid is set to return to a galaxy far far away in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII.
The specifics of the role are unclear, but it seems likely that McDiarmid will be returning to his role of Palpatine. It is not known yet if he is the original or a clone.
Fans of Star Wars EU know the Emperor was able to be resurrected in a clone body.
There is always the possibility of a flashback as well.
