So we’re about due for a Star Wars casting rumor aren’t we?
With filming scheduled to begin filming in May, one would expect casting announcements are imminent. But the latest rumor has it that one of the stars of this year’s Transformers: Age of Extinction has been cast in Star Wars: Episode VII!
Now before you nerd rage it’s not Mark Wahlberg, but Jack Reynor the pretty much unknown Irish actor you see above.
The rumor comes from Harry Knowles of Ain’t It Cool. He is reporting he’s heard from multiple sources that Reynor has been cast in in an undisclosed role.
It’s not hard to guess what role he could be wanted for, he does have a Skywalker look doesn’t he?
Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a script that he wrote with Lawrence Kasdan. The movie is rumored to focus on a new generation of heroes and could include appearances by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in older versions of their iconic characters from the original Star Wars trilogy. The film is expected to begin shooting in May of 2014 and will hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
