RUMOR: Who sits on top of a very short list for the Black Panther role?

May 1st, 2013 by Edwin Torres Jr Comments

El Mayimbe, ScoopMaster of Latino Review has revealed that Chadwick Boseman (42) is on top of a short list of actors to get the role of T’Challa aka The Black Panther. A few weeks back there was some noise that Morris Chesnut was in talks for the role but that was squashed pretty quickly.

El Mayimbe says:

“Now at press time, to my knowledge no offer has been made or deal is in place. Boseman is simply at the top of the list. I actually reached out to Boseman’s reps at boutique agency Greene & Associates and of course they refuse to comment. Make no mistake, Marvel is taking general meetings with actors for not only this role but other roles as well. Morris Chestnut alone proved that.”

Now the speculation begins, will we see him in Avengers 2? Does he get a solo film first? Maybe in Phase 3?

Boseman fits right in with Marvel’s track record of casting up and comers for hot lead roles, like Chris Hemsworth for Thor and, more recently, Chris Pratt for Guardians of the Galaxy.
